Born To Read is the early literacy show that helps you prepare your child for Pre-K and Kindergarten. Kindergarten is no longer the class where children learn their ABC's and 123's. Children are expected to know the basics before they come to school. They are expected to know colors, shapes, numbers, letters and their sounds. Before a child can move on to 1st grade, they are expected to know how to read - which can be a huge challenge for some children.

Being a teacher to your young child can be overwhelming and even a bit scary, but this show is designed to give you ideas and solutions. Carl Schurz Elementary Principal, Merry White, will take you into Pre-K and Kindergarten classes and show you how teachers engage the children to learn.
