The Accelerated Reader Program at Carl Schurz is used to help encourage students to be better readers. Students strive towards achieving goals they set with their teachers. Goals involve doing well on quizzes and earning points and certifications. As they become more successful they are encouraged to read more challenging books that will help them become stronger readers. Each nine weeks students will be recognized for accomplishing goals, and each semester end will bring a celebration for those who accomplished goals.
