We are accepting Teacher Substitute applications for 2008-2009.

We are always accepting applications for Nurse Substitutes.

To substitute teach,
an applicant must have the following:
 
  • 30 Semester Hours of College
    (Nurse subsitutes must have an LVN or RN License)
    or
    Have at least 150 hours of documented experience working with children in an educational setting during the previous 12 months and at lease two recommendations from certified teachers.
 
  • Criminal Background Check (If you have not lived in Texas continuously for the past year, you must submit a fingerprint based criminal history background check. You may pick up a fingerprint card from the HR office).
  
  • Attend a Substitute Orientation

  21+ Days: $70.00/day
Substitute Orientation Dates: Long Term Sub*: $90.00/day
Orientations will be held once a month*. Unfilled Position*: $160.00/day
*(Applicants who meet the above requirements, will receive notification)  
  *Long Term (greater than 20 consecutive days) and Unfilled Rates only apply to Texas certified substitutes filling in for a certified teacher.
   
Substitutes attending orientation should bring the following items: Driver's License, Social Security Card and a copy of transcript showing a minimum of 30 semester hours. Substitutes who have TB Test Results may bring them, otherwise they will be required to fill out a TB Questionnaire at orientation.
