300 COMPUTER BASICS (WINDOWS XP)

This is a starting point for the beginner with little or no computer experience. This two-week class includes how to turn on, log in, and shut down a computer, and how to use a mouse.  Participants will learn how to manage the desktop and work with windows, how to save files and folders, and basic operations to get you up and running in Windows XP. The course will also include the basics for sending and receiving e-mail, using Internet Explorer to search the internet, and using your printer. This class is suitable for students with little or no computer skills.

302 INTRODUCTION TO  MICROSOFT WORD 2003

This two-week class briefly presents the basics of Microsoft Word 2003. This course will include how to create, save, edit, and print documents. Participants will learn to use the tools on the Standard and Formatting toolbars, insert graphics into a document, and special word processing features such as spell check, thesaurus and grammar check. The use of templates for ready-made documents of all types will also be covered. This class is suitable for students with beginning computer skills.

 304 INTRODUCTION TO MICROSOFT EXCEL 2003

This two-week class presents the basics for creating and working with an Excel worksheet. Worksheets can be used for many purposes, such as tracking home finances, organizing and sorting data, and even printing address labels. Participants will learn how to create a worksheet and discover its basic characteristics. The use of formulas, functions, charts and graphs for business and personal applications will also be covered briefly. This class is suitable for students with beginning computer skills.
