1. TEKS to be covered: 6.1 A, B, C; 6.2 A, B, C; 6.3 A, B, C; 6.4A, B; 6.5A, B, C, D; 6.6 A, B, C

2. Starting Point Topic:
Scales: Concert Bb, Eb, Ab, C, and F; counting dotted quarter values; Reinforce: Chromatic scales, eighth note counting and application; read computer compositions; dynamics

3. Week 2 Topic:
Continue above. Lessons 19, 20 and 21; sight read computer comps; Counting 16th notes

4. Week 3 topic:
Middle School audition music handed out; to include the following: Concert Bb, C, F, and Eb major scales, chromatic scale, 2 etudes.

5. Week 4 topic:
Begin handing out Spring concert music; Lessons 22, 23, 24, 25.

6. Week 5 Topic:
All concert music handed out; Begin counting in varied time signatures: 2/2, alle breve, 6/8, 3/8, and 9/8.

7. Week 6 topic:
Middle school auditions begin. Begin working on Concert Music

8. Major Projects or grades:
Begin scale pass offs--goes through 5th six weeks.

9.TAKS preparation contribution, if any:
Students are using higher order thinking skills (specifically toward math). Algebraic concepts such as time and key signatures will be worked on.

10. Writing assessments, if any: Note-taking

11. Use of technology, if any: Finale Note-Pad composition project; Students will also be playing and critiquing music composed by themselves on the computer via the Box Light Projector; 2 recordings which will be placed in their electronic portfolio.
